Proviron (Mesterolone) is a powerful anti-estrogen.
Derived from DHT (dihydrotestosterone).

Proviron clinical studies
In the medical context, Proviron is used to reduce problems related to a deficiency of male sex hormones (Androgen), Testosterone.
In the 70s, it was used with some success in controlled studies concerning men suffering from various forms of depression.
More recently, a clinical trial involving 38 men suffering from dysthymia was administered doses of 75 mg daily for 4 weeks.
A very clear improvement in symptoms including anxiety, lack of desire and lack of self-confidence has been reported.
Dysthymia is a mood disorder involving depressive behavior.
It’s kind of chronic depression.
The second part of this study involved administering higher doses (450mg/daily) to a group of 52 individuals with an average age of 40 years and also suffering from dysthymia (chronic mood disorder).
This clinical trial lasted 6 weeks and included half of the subjects being administered a placebo.
Unfortunately, no significant differences emerged between the two groups.
This is probably due to the high dosages that were administered.
Except for a decrease in the levels of ” LH “, better known as luteinizing hormone.
Luteinizing hormone stimulates the production of testosterone by the interstitial cells of the testicle.
Positive effect of proviron
Oddly enough, Proviron is in some countries, legally considered an anabolic steroid .
Yet this product has no significant direct anabolic effect.
This drug can produce a large number of benefits to the steroid user.
The first obvious use of Proviron is that it was designed to treat sexual dysfunction.
It should not be forgotten that Proviron is a powerful androgen and that androgenic hormones have a significant influence on libido.
For one reason or another, many steroid users will experience a loss of libido during a steroid cycle.
Proviron, for most people, prevents this effect.
It appears according to the testimony of some users, that this compound is almost as powerful as a small dose of Viagra.
During a steroid cycle, it is very common for testosterone and other androgens to be converted into estrogen by an enzyme known as aromatase.
Proviron has an affinity for the aromatase enzyme which is actually stronger than Testosterone.
It thus tends to bind to it at a higher rate than Testosterone, but without converting to estrogen, so it reduces aromatase levels, which will lead to less conversion of androgens to estrogen.

- 50 mg per day for men who are on a very large steroid cycle.
This difference is because Proviron is a highly androgenic drug.
This can have the effect of causing a virilization effect in women.
Virilization in women is the modification of their secondary sexual characteristics that tend towards masculinization.
The main symptoms are:
- Hirsutism
- Androgenic distribution of fat mass
- Voice modification
- Clitoral enlargement
- Menstrual disorders
